PAY ATTENTION TO MATERIALS
We have experienced wonderfully hot and sunny summer in Finland. In the northern countries like this we have four seasons that set challenges to the number of clothes we need to have in order to cover all seasonal requirements from extreme hot weather conditions to extreme cold.
In Finland the summer time is relatively short and people tend to have long summer holidays, thus, the Finns don’t invest much on summer business style clothing, although, everyone in business should have all the blazers, skirts and shirts also in lighter material and in summery colors. Even if the summer was rainy or cold, the winter clothing is way too heavy and off season during the summer months.
I have created some summer style ensembles for business use from the Stockmann’s online store. I hope these ideas give you an inspiration with a Scandinavian flair.

For urban business look it is great to create an ensemble by mixing fashion brands, materials and even various styles together. In the right handside picture I have combined Esprit cheque-patterned pants with Sand Copenhagen linen blazer and accessorised it with Finnish design Golla bag and American designer Tory Burch’s slide pumps.
In a more creative field of business you can opt for more exaggerated designs and colors such as the blue/whire dress designed by Ivana Helsinki combined with lime green Globe Hope Halla-bag and Steve Madden Yunity-wedges.
FOR OFFICIAL OCCATIONS
Did you know that the royals use pantyhoses even in the extremely hot summer days? We should use them too in a more official occations, and consider us ladies lucky to have stay-ups and suspenders available in sun and black color provided by Oroblu and available at Stockmann stores. The suspenders are back in fashion, go’n’have a try!
The blue dress in the pictured above is from Polo Ralph Lauren’s collection. His dresses are well-known for bringing out the utmost beauty of a feminine body, they have their own elastic light-weight lining so no petticoat is needed and they are easy to enrobe because of the zipper in the back. For more official occations, you should wear a pantyhose, stay-ups or suspenders.
When wearing pantyhoses, your pumps must have a closed heel and toe, and you should choose a heel height that you can walk on. The walking should feel and look comfortable. In the picture I have chosen three different heel heights in comparison. The handbag is a Longchamp Roseaux leatherbag.
